REPOWERBalcombe raise £110,000 to install Solar at two new Schools

REPOWERBalcombe is delighted to announce that the recent share offer to add two new Schools and 100kWp PV solar to the Co-operative has successfully raised the full £110,000 needed.

The £110,000 will be used to pay for the installation of 50 kWp of solar PV at each of these schools;

Crawley Down Village Church of England School is a primary school located around ten miles to the north of Balcombe.   We plan to install 49.92kWp of solar PV and anticipate that the school will use approximate 80% of the electricity generated, while the rest will be fed into the national grid.

Imberhorne School is a secondary school and sixth form in East Grinstead. We plan to install 49.92kWp of solar PV at the school and anticipate that the school will use approximate 75% of the electricity generated, while the rest will be fed into the national grid.

We are excited to work with these schools who are at the heart of their communities and to provide an educational opportunity to the pupils.

We wholeheartedly thank everyone who has supported, shown interest or invested in our co-operative to repower our community and to show our Government and the rest of the country that there is a common desire in people to invest in cleaner and renewable technologies now to reduce the damage we are inflicting on the planet.
