A 10-year success story for Balcombe

Many thanks to all who visited our site at this year’s fete, as we celebrated a Balcombe village success story spanning 10 years. We’ve generated over 1.2 gigawatt hours of electricity at prices well below market rates for our site hosts, whilst providing a reasonable return to our shareholders. We’ve also donated over £80k to local energy saving projects, many in the village’s community buildings and most recently to our Parish Council’s LED Street Light conversion programme.

At the fete we focussed on 12 quick, easy ways to reduce your digital carbon footprint, with about 100 leaflets handed out. This highlighted 12 small things we can all do to save energy from using everyday devices such as mobile phones, tablets, games consoles, PCs and Sat Navs. You can view the leaflet below, then print and/or download it if you wish. (These also formed part of our display)

We also announced a possible significant new share offer. We can’t tell you more until we’ve reached formal agreement with the host site, but it’s local and it’s big. Watch out for updates in the village mag, social media, our website and emails to existing shareholders plus those who signed up at the fete.
