The schools have gone Solar!
In February we had our first public share offer, which was successful in raising £49,000 from about 50 local investors, to fund solar installations on both Balcombe and Turners Hill primary schools.
Since then we’ve been pushing hard to get all the contracts and paperwork done and we’re pleased to say that the panels have now gone up at both schools!
That takes our total number of panels to 103, doubling our generating capacity to 44 KWp. If you’re an investor in these panels then we will be in touch with you very soon about the tax relief you can claim on your investment.
At times Turner’s Hill will be running on 100% self-generated renewable electricity as our panels will be adding to a small wind turbine and some older solar panels they have already. Balcombe Primary School will be our first installation within the village which we’re really pleased about.
We’ve also had loads and loads of brilliant coverage in the local and national press with the schools featured on the ITV 6 o’clock news, BBC, The Argus, Littlehampton Gazette and the Metro.
